NYC Schools Attendance in 2014

Fewer than half of New York City public school students went to class on Thursday, Feb. 13, as parents and educators called it "a mistake" to keep public schools open during a messy snow storm. It's the third day in 2014 when more than a third of the city's students missed class. In spite of near weekly snow storms, classes were cancelled only once this year due to weather, on Jan. 3.
